Native throughout the western US, this currant is known for sweetly fragrant blooms of sulfur-yellow which then mature into glossy-black fruit beloved by wildlife and edible for humans. Remarkably adaptable the plants can be grown in shade or sun, though protection from direct afternoon sun is appreciated in very hot climates. Drought-adapted once established.
