This shrubby, spreading, multi-trunked dogwood has creamy-white margined leaves that turn a gorgeous brick-red in the fall. Late spring bracts ("flowers") are white, elongated, and profuse, and last several weeks — holding up in sun or shade. Also with abundant crimson fruits and gray peeling bark — this tree has a lot going for it! Birds love it and so will you. We have this planted on the farm in a fun sun area with little summer water since it was established. The white margined leaves have shown no sign of burn and the overall effect of the lively undulating leaf margins is an attractive asset.
