From Japan and Korea: A dense, dwarf mound of fanning blue-green lobed leaves are crowned in April–May with adorable flowers. Sepals and spurs are violet-blue, and the corolla the same but dipped in cream. A darling to be sure; suitable for alpine type gardens without hot afternoon sun, or troughs—something that can be experienced up close and personal. Attracts butterflies. 6–9" T & W compact mound, naturalizing.
