From China: Glossy, rich green leaves with a pale surface patterning cohabit with 3-inch diameter black velvet flowers with pink-tinged white inner banding. The flowers (May, June) are a world apart from your petunias and a sight more intriguing. (This is not culinary ginger; called ginger for its scent when crushed.) 10" tall evergreen ground cover.
