Small Epimedium that spreads to form a delicate but drought-tolerant groundcover. Spurless, nodding little yellow flowers bloom in spring above rounded, spiny-edged leaves. New foliage blushes with soft pink and purple before turning to a soft green. If foliage is left throughout the winter, the show continues with bright, multicolored speckled mosaic foliage that lasts from late fall into spring. Or, cut the foliage back in late fall and watch the beautiful new foliage appear in early spring!
The size and color of the leaf remind us a bit of Vancouver hexandra, but it is a much faster spreader.
