Imagine coming upon this beauty while trekking in the mountain meadows, slopes, and wooded areas of NW Xinjiang, China or Siberia at 5000 – 8000 feet! Fortunately, someone has had the forethought to make it easily available, no trek required. In May and June, butter-cream-yellow bell flowers nod at the tops of stout stems with lance-shaped blue-green leaves — a gorgeous combination of colors! As if to make them the more interesting, the flowers are sometimes tinged with green and sometimes marked with brown.
