A cultivar of the species native to the Eastern United States that was selected primarily for its unique, variegated leaves. Rounded leaves unfurl in spring with a dark green center surrounded by wavy edges of pale green.
Fragrant, bright yellow, stem-hugging blooms appear in FALL--unlike other commonly-grown Witch Hazels which bloom in late winter--on bare branches. Blooms usually appear after fall leaf drop, but sometimes coincide with fall leaf color.
