From a seedling at the Hudson Nursery in Tangent, Oregon, ca. 1931, this brownish-yellow, elongated apple was first marketed as a pear. A nutty, crisp, sweet flesh distinguish this especially tasty russetted apple. Fairly scab- and mildew-resistant, the fruit will hang on the tree into winter. Ripens in late October, and a good keeper.
