Particularly amenable to long, hot summers, this deciduous vine has heart-shaped leaves with sometimes a bluish cast, and 10–12-inch white, irregular, lace-cap flowers in July. Frothy "beads" form the interior of the inflorescence, and elegant tear-drop shaped petals skirt the periphery. 45' tall/long, attaching by aerial rootlets, it starts out slowly and picks up speed after a few years to reward your patience. Tolerant of worse soils, its heart's desire is to put its feet into a cool, leafy mulch.
