This woodland-loving, multi-stemmed open-branched shrub is a hard-to-find but worthy addition to a large, shaded border. In spring, it is generously dotted with Camellia-like, white, single blooms with crimp-edged petals. Each bloom has a contrasting center of purple stamens and blue anthers. With a fall cold snap, the medium-green leaves will show yellow color. Prefers acidic soil.
This group is grafted onto Stewartia pseudocamellia rootstock for increased vigor & adaptability.
