Thick racemes of lilac-purple flowers, lightly fragrant, bloom in spring and into early summer on vigorous vines to 25' long. Make sure Wisteria has sturdy supports. Eventually, it will form a thick enough trunk that it will become its own support. Curtains of blooms come on simultaneously and just before the vine is fully leafed out. Bean-like pods, ornamental as well, follow the blooms into winter.
