More upright than 'Sugar Plum', 'Coppelia' blooms mid through late spring with terminal racemes of open, bell-shaped, deep purplish-pink flowers 1cm across. It does well in a container, rockery, your alpine garden, or in any very well-drained garden spot. The intergeneric hybrid is between Phyllodoce (mountain heaths and heathers) and Kalmiopsis (from Oregon's southwest regions). Plant in acidic soil and be careful not to overwater. Evergreen.
