This tough little bloomer was selected from the Kannah Creek region of Western Colorado. Expect a showy display of pom-pom-shaped yellow flowers in late spring, which will turn to shades of orange and rust by late summer. The flower spikes are 12-15 inches tall.
This is a durable perennial for the dry garden--free-draining soil and no summer water once established, please! Low mats of deep green leathery leaves form 12-inch tall by 24-inch wide mounds and provide red-purple fall color. This is a pollinator power plant: nectar & pollen for bees & butterflies, seeds for birds, and habitat for lots of other mini-beasts in the garden.
