Our PNW native species drifts through woodland areas with large, purple-violet flowers in early to mid-summer. Handsome, deeply cut dark green leaves are 3–4 inches across. As with many of our PNW native wildflowers, it will go summer dormant during our dry, rainless months.
The initial seed for this offering is from a few surviving native plants on a roadcut about 2 miles from the nursery. It has miraculously persisted despite the road crew and farmers's mowing and spraying.
