Delicate and slightly weepy (think black and white film proverbial Victorian widow). Foliage emerges in the spring in a bright dark red, then progresses to summer foliage ranging from dark burgundy to brick red. Fall color depends more on temperature and light. A cooler wet autumn leads to dark black while more light and heat provide bright red.
