A beautiful deep red Japanese maple with an upright habit and straight trunk. One of the oldest documented cultivars. Resplendent in hues of deep maroon in spring and summer transitioning to crimson in the fall. 'Mushashino' will require summer water in hotter climates and should be protected from hot winds to prevent scorch. Fairly fast growing, it can reach 15 ft in height in 10 years.
