A shimmering sheen of downy white fur covers the leaves of this ingeniously named Arctostaphylos. The foliage creates a striking contrast in the landscape and is one the palest of all the varieties we grow. Complimentary white urn-shaped flowers continue the theme and are a delight to foraging hummingbirds and bees. Native to the freely draining soils of the Santa Cruz mountains, but will tolerate less than its most desired soils and cooler temperatures too. Prune young plants to encourage sturdy side branching and to provide airflow.
