Originally offered by Woodlanders nursery of South Carolina as 'Woodlander's Hardy', this selection blooms in late spring with dramatic four-inch blooms of red on new wood. This is a very drought tolerant plant once established, however, it can also tolerate summer irrigation. Be sure to provide ample horizontal space as the arching branches grow wider than tall. Plant in full sun with protection from freezing winds in unamended soil.
Size: 3 ft T x 5 ft W in 6 years
Minimum temperature: 10° F (will likely resprout from the base of an established plant if frozen to the ground.)
