A native to the East Coast and Gulf states this politely increasing mat-forming perennial works well in semi-shade. The demure golden flowers of 'Pierre' bloom over a long season and are pollinated by butterflies. It is generally found along forest margins and appreciates morning sun with filtered light rather than dark shade. Use this rhizomatous semievergreen to help displace weeds.
