A creeping relative of the dramatic large-leaf Gunnera; this demure plant forms a dense creeping mat of softly scalloped green leaves. Appreciates summer water and soil amended with compost. Semi-evergreen in coastal climates; herbaceous where winters are colder. New foliage emerges March-April. Provide a mulch layer if weather will be especially egregious.
