Ornamental bright orange fruit follows saturated orange summertime flowers amid bright green, glossy leaves. Shazam! Kept above 40º F it's more likely to fruit. For some of us that means a container brought indoors during colder temperatures. Bonsai anyone? It's a good candidate! A natural dwarf variant, it was first recorded in England in 1723, already having travelled considerably, and then made its circuitous way to San Francisco by 1858 as, hopefully, the same plant. Evergreen in mild climates only.
