Exquisite broad petals of soft, seductive yellow, unlike the other screamers, blooms in early spring. An upright shrub with graceful arching branches, deciduous.
You will see the most blooms in full sun, but the happy grower tolerates light shade and is not picky about soil. It is best to prune in mid-spring post-flowering as it blooms on old wood.
Our plant is now in full shade with only occasional summer water, but the shrub is at least fifteen years old and it was a sunnier spot when it was planted. While it does not bloom as heavily now, we still enjoy the arching branches and summer foliage to their full effect.
