From July to October, trumpet-shaped blooms of deep blue-purple dazzle us all, gradually shifting to opalescent sky blues. This vibrant, vigorous penstemon is a must-have for any pollinator garden and adds a rare blue flare to fall. Give this plant a shearing and some occasional water to extend the blooming period. Appreciates good drainage and full sun. Beeloved by hummingbirds, bees, and butterflies!
We cut this back after its heavy summer bloom and were excited to see continuous blooms through a few light frosts into November (and it's still not done!). We have included a photo of blooms in November which are more pink in the cold.
