From Australia, this robust vine attracts hummingbirds and butterflies to its robust, rich, red-orange trumpet flowers in summer and into fall. In sun or shade, it blooms unassailably, in rich or poor soil it thrives, and with plenty of water or very little, it persists. It is, in a word, indomitable. Situate it where it can be itself: enhancing larger structures like a Bavarian castle wall, or...a stout pergola you've built for summer shade and for the hummingbirds.
