A small- to medium-sized deciduous shrub, 'Longwood Blue', given the best conditions, can reach a whopping 4 feet tall. Much bigger than most Bluebeards. Its aromatic grey-green leaves and late summer, striking powder blue blooms bring a smoky presence to the border. Once established, can tolerate some drought; be sure to provide free-draining soil. Loved by bees, butterflies, and other pollinators.
