A shrubby Foxglove from Southern Spain, D. obscura produces masses of deep orange and maroon flowers on 20" spikes for months. Cutting back occasionally will refresh it and keep it blooming continuously. Lovely on a dry hillside or in a gravel garden, or where there is reflected heat. Eventually 30" wide, it will eventually form a semi-woody clump with narrow medium green leaves. The flowers are even lovelier upon closer inspection.
