This tough & gorgeous perennial is native to the Southwestern United States (including CA, CO, NM, TX) and into Northern Mexico. It forms very deep roots, so--once established--is exceptionally drought tolerant. Through the summer the broad, mounding plant is covered with upright, wide, funnel-shaped pink blooms that open in the afternoon sun. Fleshy, grey-green, spade-shaped leaves provide an attractive foil to the showy flowers.
