WFrom early to late summer, pink-purple-blue, tubular blooms burst forth in whorls on upright stems. Leaves form a low mat of narrow, evergreen, grey-green. Native to W USA. BEE-loved.
Note: Penstemon procerus, like many Western natives, may enter a semi-dormant state in the hottest part of the summer but usually returns to bloom with the start of the rain.
