Native to Western Oregon, this Checker Mallow has floral spikes of loosely clustered flowers that bloom in shades of light to dark pink over a season that can extend from April to late summer depending on plant locale. The rounded individual petals have a crinkled appearance with notched margins and whitish-pink veins. Repeat bloom with some summer irrigation.
Functions as a host plant for Gray Hairstreak and Checkered Skipper butterflies and provides nectar for Taylor’s Checkerspot butterflies and Fenders Blue.
