A rare and highly sought-after Daphne for rock garden enthusiasts. Daphne petraea 'Grandiflora' is a SLOW and compact daphne with highly fragrant pink flowers each spring. Floriforus, it blooms first and heaviest on old growth, but it will continue to bloom into the summer scattered on the new. Cold night temperatures will encourage a darker pink flower.
CARE: Best grown in a rock garden where it is allowed its space or kept as a pet in a pot. Requires well-draining soil. Daphne dislikes disturbance, so plant it carefully and site it where it can remain. DO NOT OVERWATER and avoid watering during the heat of the day. It is quite cold hardy, but being too wet in the winter will kill it.
Disclaimer: Some Daphne can be a challenge to grow, but well worth the effort. We send out healthy plants but can't be responsible for other cultural requirements that are out of our control. It's a plant for experienced gardeners used to trial and error who realize plants can die for no apparent reason at all. We do not offer refunds unless damaged during shipping.
