New foliage emerges a rich deep wine red on this vigorous evergreen to semievergreen mounding Euphorbia first found in the gardens of Keith and Jen Miner in Plumas Lake, California in 2015. Speculation is it may be a hybrid of the Euphorbia amygdaloides 'Purpurea' and Euphorbia 'Blackbird' which were growing nearby. The older foliage matures to a deep green while retaining the dark red color on the reverse—giving the plant an overall dark appearance.  With the onset of cooler weather foliage darkens to a nearly black burgundy.  Add this one to increase the brooding sultry atmosphere in your garden!  Appreciates some summer water during extended periods of summer drought.
