With deep, velvety, red-violet to rose-red flowers, this Dicentra has lacy blue-green to green leaves to perfectly complement. In cooler climates it is an ever-bloomer, flowering throughout the summer and into the fall. 12 inches tall and spreading, it can create an unusual and attractive perennial ground cover, fluffy and dotted with color. Happy in sun or shade and shockingly drought- and clay-tolerant, we've had a clump growing in full sun in a compact and rocky pathway in the warmest weather! So accommodating, so delicate, so darling, and loved by butterflies!
