The leaves on this striking shade tree emerge a deep pink with tips of orange. Pale yellow flower spikes emerge in spring as the leaves open. As spring proceeds, the leaves turn to pale green, and then as summer warms they deepen to dark green. Shades of orange and red take over the leaves in fall. Happiest in rich soil with regular water but, once established, it can tolerate some dry spells.
