As if by magic in late summer, from bone dry soil, slender, 2' tall, leafless stems develop clusters of striped pink and white trumpets — such a trick. Sweetly fragrant! Resents root disturbance. These are grown from seeds in our garden and can take a few years to bloom. It is normal for the foliage to die back in late spring while the bulb goes dormant until the flower stems emerge in late summer.
