Arctostaphylos 'Blue Bear' is a Dancing Oaks Selection. Nursery owners Fred and Leonard wrote "3x3 amazing blue color with very clean foliage" in their original notes. In the gardens here, it has been prone to some winter spotting but is so stunning every summer that we give it a pass every year. We have our plant at the east end of an East/West berm so there might be less spotting in a spot with more airflow.

'Blue Bear' has been a favorite due to its pale peachy-pink new growth with the blue backdrop of older foliage.

Mature size: 4 ft T x 6 ft W at 7 years old

Minimum temperature: 0º F

Not recommended for hot and humid climates.
