Callistemon 'Wetland's Challenged Mutant’, Bottlebrush

One of the best of the Callistemon we have grown in the gardens of Dancing Oaks. It is reliable throughout bouts of cold, heat, or drought. In contrast to the wider-than-tall red-flowered 'Eleanor', this selection has an upright habit of being almost twice as tall as wide, reaching 7 feet tall in about 8 years. It flowers profusely with luminous, creamy-yellow spikes in mid-summer. The narrow, olive-green leaves are an attractive texture in the garden and provide a backdrop for other plants.

Mature size: 7 ft tall x 4 ft wide in 8-10 years

Minimum temp: Hardy to 10° F and will likely rebound from the crown of an established plant if the temperature is lower than that.
