This exquisite hybrid, between Clematis flammula and C. viticella, is one of the most heavily scented Clematis- with a fragrance redolent of marzipan. Star-like white flowers have tips with brush strokes of violet that bloom profusely from midsummer to fall. Ideally, it needs rich, well-drained soil but will tolerate being planted at the base of a conifer once it has been established. AGM winner.
Group 3 – Flowers only on new wood. Can be cut to the ground in fall or spring. Cut stems 12-18 inches above a growth node or new shoot.
