Terrific, brightly variegated, large gold and green leaves clothe red stems—all aglow! And even more so in fall when it blushes with pink. A native, it was found along our own Deschutes River. Unchecked growth can be 20' tall and wide, but responds well to hard pruning if need be. The flowers are rather shy, small, white, flat cymes. This is an optimistic plant if ever there was one. Enjoyed by birds and butterflies.
