A favorite deciduous shrub, its airy structure is fairly compact with a dense growth of fine twigs and small, hazel-like leaves held horizontally. The leaves often have a slight, pretty blush. In bloom, before it leafs out, the branches are lined with lovely light yellow flowers—so delicate. This beauty does not tolerate periods of drought; you'll have better luck with one of the Corylopsis spicatas for those conditions.
