A densely-branching, broadly pyramidal form with a strong central leader, this Corylus has copper bark dramatically exfoliating to cream, much as a river birch, and lovely, long catkins draping the then leafless tree. This is one for the many looking for a mid-size tree, handsomely regular, pink-tinged in spring and brilliant gold in fall, interesting in winter with its papery bark, and marvelous for shade - an all-season tree! From the mountain valley forests of Western China, it is as yet uncommon, only introduced in 1996. 25–30' T x 15–25' W, disease-resistant.

Once your order is ready, we bring the plants from our greenhouses into a holding area. Each plant is wrapped by hand and, when needed, staked to protect tender stems. Because our inventory is so diverse, we adjust the packing method for each plant based on its size, type, and stage of growth.

We reuse clean paper and plastic packing materials whenever practical. It is easier on the planet and helps keep shipping costs down for you, too.
