An uncommon Asian shrub with very long pinnate leaves and glowing pale blue seedpods. The interior of the fruit is delicately sweet and custard-like with embedded black seeds. Small, pale, May - June blooming creamy-yellow flowers bloom on upright deciduous multistem plants native to woodlands, thickets, mountain slopes and ravines in western China, Bhutan, NE India, Myanmar, Nepal and Sikkim. This shrub typically grows from 10'-20' tall and wide.
