From the Andes to Patagonia, D. spinosa is a slowly growing, upright evergreen shrub. Very dark green glossy and spiny leaves are reminiscent of Holly but the flower is an unlikely but enticing waxy, tubular, bright orange pendent bloom seemingly dipped in yellow - a much better take on the candy corn effect. Bloom time is summer and autumn.

Carefully packed for each plant

Once your order is ready, we bring the plants from our greenhouses into a holding area. Each plant is wrapped by hand and, when needed, staked to protect tender stems. Because our inventory is so diverse, we adjust the packing method for each plant based on its size, type, and stage of growth.

We reuse clean paper and plastic packing materials whenever practical. It is easier on the planet and helps keep shipping costs down for you, too.
