Our specimen in the garden is nearly 15 years old and so rewarding each year with its chartreuse leaves glowing in the shade! And even with hard pruning, it remains good-natured. Don't worry, it doesn't have the bad manners of its coarser, spreading cousin. One bad apple...you know.
