A hardy Japanese salvia relative, this white flowering Keiskea japonica has broad, textured 4 in long leaves on 2-3 ft stalks topped with 2-3 inches of tiny white axillary flower spikes with long anthers. Becomes multi-stemmed and shrub-like with age. A lovely woodland addition with valuable late summer bloom time. Prefers bright shade and some summer water. Deer and rabbits avoid it, perhaps because of a skunky odor released when leaves are rubbed.
