This fountain-shaped deciduous shrub, 5' x 5' or greater, is noted for its large, five-petaled, re-blooming cheery yellow flowers (to 2 1/2" diameter) and its heavily veined leaves. Each flower presumably resembles the color and size of the guinea coin, hence the cultivar name. Sometimes it's also called Easter Rose because the flowers typically bloom around Easter. Nice in shady naturalistic areas or in other informal settings where a light mood is desired. (Flowers and leaves can bleach out in too much sun.)
