From the Japanese ki (yellow) renge (lotus blossom) and shoma (hat). Exquisite, pendent, drop-shaped, pale yellow flowers decorate tall mounds in late late summer to early autumn. The leaves are Sycamore-shaped — large, soft, and palmate. Native to the mountains of Korea and Japan, it appreciates rich, moist, acidic soil, and shelter from the wind. It's a late summer hummingbird delight.
