From the Japanese ki (yellow) renge (lotus blossom) and shoma (hat). Exquisite, pendent, drop-shaped, pale yellow flowers decorate 30" tall mounds in late August to early September. The leaves are Sycamore-shaped — large, soft, and palmate. Native to mountains of Korea and Japan, it appreciates rich, moist, acidic soil, and shelter from wind. It's a late summer hummingbird delight.
