This semi-evergreen perennial has beautiful blue-grey leaves and intriguing, bright green, double cup-shaped inflorescences arranged in an umbel. Long-blooming, late spring to mid-summer, they become evermore pink-maroon with age. Average garden soil is just fine but this clumping perennial needs enough room to be its glorious self. Forms a small trunk in time. Likes cool sun and light shade, and, ideally, well-draining soil to keep it from becoming too wet, too long. Coming from Mexico, it would be an ideal plant to create that tropical or semi-tropical effect.
