A small, upright, evergreen tree or large shrub with oval, leathery, glossy green, up to 4-inch leaves with either smooth or finely toothed edges. Tiny white flower clusters appear in fall along the stems at leaf axils. The blooms aren't very showy but they are extremely fragrant, creating a cloud of sweet, apricot-like scent. Sometimes you'll see sporadic blooms until spring.
