Narrow, light blue-green and stiffly hairy leaves up to 6 inches long create evergreen rosettes. Slender foot-high stems are topped by bright orange, 2+ inch diameter, four-petalled flowers. It's easy to assume if it's a poppy then it wants full sun...but the Hairy Poppy loves light shade in addition to well-drained soil and some summer water.
