Gratifyingly vigorous, traveling by rhizomes, this Polygonatum can be used successfully as a tall ground cover given a decent facsimile of woodland soil. Ovate leaves alternating their way up red stems are etched in white! And small white bell flowers dangle the length of these two-foot stems in spring. This one prefers a little sun to be robust. A Japanese selection.
